Antiviral innate immune signaling

Project details

We dissect how different virus families are recognized by the innate immune system, and which defense mechanisms they elicit. To extract general lessons, we compare a diverse range of viruses, including alphaviruses, herpesviruses, orthomyxoviruses, poxviruses, retroviruses, and rhabdoviruses. Recently, we have established a novel reporter to visualize and quantify inflammasome assembly in living cells. Using genetically engineered viruses that encode this reporter, we study antiviral inflammasomes responses in human primary cells.
