Max Komes is a 3th year medical student at the university of Bonn, Germany and currently undertaking his medical thesis in the Heneka Lab, DZNE since October 2020. Here he is examining the central mechanisms of neuroinflammation as a basis of Alzheimer’s pathology. He is especially interested in exploring the inflammatory impact on phagocytotic activity and degradation of Aβ-plaques and the role of different metabolic parameters on phagocytosis.
